McLean, VA – The Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) announced today that it signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding with the Mexican National Meat Council (Consejo Mexicano de la Carne or COMECARNE) to support PROCESS EXPO 2011. The agreement between the two organizations was signed during the Expo Carnes 2011 tradeshow in Monterrey, Mexico and calls for COMECARNE to promote attendance at PROCESS EXPO among its meat processor members in Mexico. COMECARNE will also participate in the development of meat focused technical sessions that are part of the day-long Spanish language Seminario de Innovaciones, taking place on October 31, 2011.

“We are very excited about this opportunity to partner with COMECARNE, organizer of the Expo Carnes tradeshow in Monterrey,” said Scott Scriven, Chairman of the Food Processing Suppliers Association and President of Weber Inc. “Not only do they represent the great majority of Mexican meat processors, but as a show organizer they know the importance of showing value both to exhibitors and attendees. In fact, COMECARNE is already very familiar with PROCESS EXPO exhibitors as many of us already participate in Expo Carnes, Latin America’s top trade show for the meat industry.”

"PROCESS EXPO presents excellent opportunities for COMECARNE members to learn from and work with an even larger group of equipment suppliers, including those that sell to other segments of the food industry,” said Eugenio Salinas Morales, President of COMECARNE and Director of Institutional Relations at Xignux Foods. “By way of this agreement, we expect both parties to benefit from this collaboration resulting in an even stronger industry thanks to new ideas, improved efficiencies and an ever constant focus on food safety.”

Registration for the Chicago-based PROCESS EXPO 2011 (November 1-4, 2011) is now open. Companies interested in exhibiting in PROCESS EXPO 2011 should contact Grace Cular Yee, FPSA Director of Sales at gyee@fpsa.org.  A complete list of exhibitors and the updated floor plan for PROCESS EXPO 2011 can be found at www.myprocessexpo.com.
